Glaze Games
Cookie Settings

Cookies, in plain language.

What we use them for, what's optional, and how to change your mind.

Help improve Glaze Games

Optional analytics helps us understand which games and features work well. With your permission, we send usage events and device information to PostHog and Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity records your sessions on the website (replays and heatmaps) with everything you type masked, and Ahrefs Web Analytics counts your visits without cookies. If you sign in, we link PostHog activity to your account ID. We do not send chat messages, passwords, or email addresses.

This choice applies to this browser or app and does not change which ads you see. If you have also answered the age screen and are not a child (and, in the EU, UK and Switzerland, agreed in the privacy choices), it lets Paramount and Taboola count visits that came from our own ad campaigns. You can play with analytics off.

With this off, we still count visits anonymously in PostHog cookieless mode: pages viewed, the referring site, country, device and browser type, and game, search and category counts. Nothing is stored in your browser for this, no identifier is kept, nothing is linked to your account, and nothing is recorded.

Your age

Your answer to the birth-year question helps keep Glaze Games right for your age. It is stored only on this device, and only as an age group, never your birth year.

What are cookies?

Cookies are tiny text files a website saves in your browser. They’re how we keep you signed in, remember your settings, and help advertisers show you relevant (rather than random) ads.

This page describes the Glaze Games website in a browser. The iPhone and iPad app uses a separate native consent flow for advertising and Apple’s tracking permission; browser cookie choices do not transfer automatically into the app. Games run in isolated, non-persistent web views: if you decline tracking, a game’s cookies last only for that session and all website data is discarded when the game closes.

Three types

Cookies we use

Everything we set falls into one of these three buckets. Only essentials are always on — the rest are yours to choose.

  • Essential Always onRequired for the site to work. Keep your session, remember language, protect against abuse. Without them you cannot play.
  • Analytics Opt-inOnly for people 16 or older who turn it on: detailed PostHog analytics, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity session recordings (typing hidden) and Ahrefs Web Analytics. Until you turn it on none of these scripts is loaded. Without opt-in we only count visits anonymously with PostHog in cookieless mode, with nothing stored in your browser.
  • Advertising Opt-inUsed by our ad partners to deliver and measure ads and, where you allow it, show ads based on your interests. Visitors who have not answered the age screen, or whose answer shows they are a child, only get non-personalized, child-directed ads. You can decline and still play.

Every third party on the website

This is the complete list of outside services the Glaze Games website loads, and when each one runs.

Always (needed to run the site)

  • Glaze Games itself: settings in your browser’s local storage (theme, language, your age-screen answer as “child” or “general” only, your analytics choice) and the anonymous counters described in the Privacy Center.
  • Cloudflare: delivery and abuse protection; it may set a security cookie.
  • Clerk: sign-in and account cookies.
  • PostHog, through glazegames.com: anonymous, cookieless visit counts for visitors who have not opted in. Nothing is stored in your browser.
  • InMobi Choice (consent platform): runs in the EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland and where we cannot tell your country, and stores the choices you make in it.

Only after you turn on optional analytics (16+)

None of these scripts is loaded before you choose “enable analytics”, and choosing “Not now” keeps them off. They also stay off if your age-screen answer shows you are a child. Turning analytics off later stops them and deletes the cookies they set on glazegames.com.

  • PostHog (detailed analytics): usage events with a random device ID kept in local storage.
  • Google Analytics 4: page views and events; cookies _ga and _ga_*.
  • Microsoft Clarity: session recordings and heatmaps with everything you type hidden, paused on account, admin and approval pages; cookies _clck and_clsk, plus Clarity’s own cookie on clarity.ms. Microsoft advertising storage is always denied.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics: visit counts without cookies.

Ad-campaign measurement (opt-in adults only)

The Paramount Ads Manager site-visit pixel and the Taboola pixel tell us which of our own ad campaigns brought visitors. Taboola stores an advertising ID (taboola global:user-id in local storage and at_gid cookie). They run only when you have turned on optional analytics, the age screen says you are not a child, and, in the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland, you agreed to Taboola and to advertising purposes in the privacy choices. Otherwise neither is loaded and any old Taboola ID is deleted.

Ads that keep Glaze Games free

  • Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads before and during games, on the website only).
  • Prebid header bidding with Online Media Solutions (IAB vendor ID 883), InMobi and LoopMe.
  • In the Telegram Mini App only: AdsGram.

Until you answer the age screen, and whenever the answer shows a child, every ad request is marked child-directed: Google is asked for non-personalized ads and Prebid bidders receive the COPPA flag and no cookie syncs. In the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland, the ad partners follow your InMobi Choice choices. Elsewhere, ad partners may use cookies to personalize ads for visitors who said they are not children.

Only when you use them

  • Google Translate, for languages we have not translated ourselves; it sets a googtrans cookie with your language.
  • Telegram and Discord scripts, only inside those apps.
  • Game providers (for example GameDistribution, GameMonetize, GamePix and Playgama) serve each game from their own site in a frame. Those games can show their own ads and set their own cookies while you play.

Google, Online Media Solutions (IAB vendor ID 883), and other third-party ad vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. You can manage Google ad personalization in Google Ad Settings or visit YourAdChoices for participating third-party advertising opt-outs.

This site uses InMobi Choice, an IAB Transparency and Consent Framework CMP, to expose your choices to supported ad partners, including Online Media Solutions as vendor ID 883.
