Far Orion: New Worlds is a collection and team strategy game with a science fiction story. It is 2121, technology has gone further than anyone imagined, and something has gone badly wrong; your heroes set out across other worlds to put it right. A session means choosing a team, sending it into a mission, fighting through the enemies and occasionally a boss, and then using the rewards to upgrade the heroes and battle cards you rely on. Several dozen heroes and cards are available, and each world holds dozens of missions. Bosses appear through the story and differ in design, attack style, and health, so they act as checkpoints for whether your team is strong enough to continue.

As a browser game it has more depth than most quick picks. Missions are bite-sized, but the progression system rewards returning over days, with daily login bonuses, achievements, and several leaderboards for different modes plus a clan leaderboard. The PvP arena, tower mode, and clan wars give you somewhere to test a team once the story feels comfortable. It is designed for landscape play, so a desktop or a phone held sideways works best, and it is better suited to longer sittings than a two-minute break. The game has no intrusive ads between missions, and the rules are simple enough to learn quickly, with the depth coming from which heroes and cards you choose to upgrade. In-game purchases can speed things up, but the missions are playable by earning currency normally.

It suits players who enjoy building up a roster over time and planning which heroes to invest in.
