About the game

About Ninja Buffet

Ninja Buffet turns a cooking show into a sword fight. You are a small masked ninja chef with a katana, and every level throws food at you: sushi rolls, fruit, burgers, dumplings and more come flying across a lantern-lit kitchen while the level scrolls forward. Slash them for points and coins, but watch for spikes and spinning saws, which cost you one of your three hearts. A slide move gets you under low hazards, and a progress bar at the top shows how far you are from the end of the stage.

The game is built for short sessions in a tall, phone-shaped window. There are 500 levels, unlocked one after another, and the scenery moves on from the kitchen to new places as you go. Bosses appear along the way, including a giant angry piece of sushi. Coins earned in runs can be spent in the shop, your best results are kept in Records, and progress is saved in your browser, so there is no account to make.

How to play Ninja Buffet

Run through the kitchen as a ninja chef, slash the food that flies at you, and reach the end of each level with your hearts intact.

  1. 1Press Play and pick the highest unlocked level.
  2. 2Move with the arrow keys or the on-screen arrows; jump with the up button.
  3. 3Press the sword button to slash food and enemies in front of you.
  4. 4Use Slide to get under low hazards, and reach the end of the level before you lose all three hearts.

Tips and strategy

  • Slash early: food that reaches you unhit can still get in the way of a jump.
  • Spikes and saws matter more than points, so dodge first and slice second.
  • Replay early levels to collect coins for the shop.
  • On a phone, hold the device upright; the game is designed for a tall screen.
