Game of Warrior

Game of Warrior mixes tower defense with territory strategy. On defense, enemy forces march at your fortress in waves and you release troops to meet them; on offense, you do the same against the walls and towers of a rival territory. The soldiers handle the fighting automatically once they are on the field, which moves the decisions to deployment, ability timing, and, above all, how you spend your gold between fights. The enemy side is made up of four races: goblins, skeletons, worgens, and orcs. Because the soldiers act on their own, a lost fight is usually a sign that your army is under-upgraded or that you sent troops out at the wrong moment, not that your reactions were too slow.

The scale is the main draw. The developer lists more than 1,500 defensive waves, over 100 territories to conquer, more than 30 soldier types to upgrade, and over 1,000 building upgrades, with a boss army arriving every tenth wave. That makes it a game you return to in short sessions rather than finish in one sitting: a few waves, a round of upgrades, and a new territory claimed. It is laid out for a landscape screen, so a laptop or a phone turned sideways works best. There are two currencies, gold and diamonds, and diamonds can be bought, which the developer says speeds up progress; earning gold through play is the free route.

It suits players who like long upgrade trees and watching an army get steadily stronger more than they like fast, twitchy control. If you enjoy auto-battlers, lane defense games, or idle-style progression with a medieval fantasy setting, this sits comfortably between those genres. It is also a reasonable first strategy game for newer players, since the automatic combat removes the need for precise control while still asking you to think about where your gold goes and which territory to take next.
