About Undercrown
Undercrown is a top-down 3D dungeon brawler built around a two-part run. The first half is a descent: three floors and 18 rooms, each with its own color scheme, with bosses called the Gravewarden and the Maw Mother guarding the way to the Underking. The second half starts the moment you win. Taking the crown brings the mountain down, and you have to fight and run back to the mine lift through collapsing rooms, falling rock, doors on timers, and monsters flooding back in. The run only counts once you are outside with the crown.
A full run takes about six to eight minutes, which is an ideal length for a browser session: long enough to build something, short enough to try again right away. Leveling up mid-run offers a choice of three upgrades, so builds vary from one attempt to the next. The eight heroes each have a distinct weapon, including the Vanguard's greatsword, the Paladin's sword and shield, the Ninja's twin daggers, Medea's staff, the Captain's cutlass, and Heraklios's greataxe, and they are unlocked with coins earned across runs. The orientation is flexible, so it can be played on a wide screen or a phone.
Undercrown suits players who enjoy short action roguelites and dungeon crawlers, where learning enemy patterns and picking the right upgrades matters more than grinding. The reversed escape gives it a different rhythm from most games of the type, because the final stretch is about speed and route knowledge rather than one last boss. Three difficulty levels give experienced players a reason to keep going after their first clear. Coins bank between runs, so even a failed attempt moves you closer to the next hero, and trying each fighter is part of the appeal, since a crossbow or a staff asks for very different positioning than fists or a greataxe.

How to play Undercrown
Fight down three dungeon floors to steal the Underking's crown, then race back up through a collapsing mountain before it buries you.
- 1Choose one of the 8 heroes you have unlocked and pick a difficulty: Normal, Hard, or Nightmare.
- 2Battle through 18 rooms across three floors, beating the Gravewarden and the Maw Mother along the way.
- 3Each time you level up during the run, choose one of three upgrades to shape your build.
- 4Defeat the Underking and take his crown, which starts the whole mountain collapsing.
- 5Run back to the mine lift through falling rock, timed doors, and returning monsters, and reach daylight with the crown to win.
Tips and strategy
- Try several heroes. A ranged fighter like Erika with her crossbow plays very differently from Kachujin, who uses only fists.
- Pick upgrades with the escape in mind. The run back up punishes slow builds, so movement and survival matter as much as damage.
- Learn the rooms on the way down. You pass back through them during the escape, and knowing the layout saves time.
- Bank coins between runs to unlock more heroes, even when a run ends badly.
- Start on Normal until the escape phase feels manageable, then move to Hard and Nightmare.
