Epic Empire: Tower Defense is an isometric fantasy defense game with a clear objective: free the kingdom by beating back waves of goblins, ogres, and much tougher bosses. Each level has you placing towers, strengthening them with runes and pets, and managing three heroes simultaneously as the enemies advance. The settings range from icy kingdoms to underground tunnels, and there are at least 30 levels including daily challenges, plus tournaments for players who want to test their skills further.

The tower defense format works well in a browser because each level is a contained puzzle that you can finish in one sitting, and repeated attempts are part of the design. Progression relies on replaying levels at higher difficulty for better rewards, which in turn level up your heroes and unlock new abilities. Two currencies keep things separate: gold for building during a level, and rubies for upgrading characters. The game is laid out in landscape, so it is most comfortable on a computer or a phone turned sideways. Music adds to the mood but is not needed to play.

It suits fans of tactics, base defense, and PvE strategy who like tinkering with placements and upgrades between attempts.
