About Tidepost

Tidepost is an original turn-based matching puzzle from Spunky Game. You run a small seaside post office with a six-by-six harbor. Each turn you drop the next letter into one of six columns, where it falls to the lowest free space. Connect three or more matching stamps by their edges, such as coral suns, golden starfish or teal waves, and they leave together while the letters above fall into place. Diagonals do not count.

The twist is the tide. After every third drop, every row slides toward the tide arrow and then settles downward, which can make new matches and chains. The next tide goes the other way. A mailbag panel shows the next three letters and how many drops are left before the tide turns. The coastal campaign has 24 routes from Beginner to Nightmare, each with a target and a limited number of drops. There is no clock, and cleared routes and best scores are saved in your browser.

How to play Tidepost

Drop letters into a little harbor, match three stamps to send them home, and plan around a tide that shifts the board every third drop.

  1. 1Scroll down to the harbor and press Open the post office.
  2. 2Check the mailbag for the next three letters.
  3. 3Click or tap a column to drop the current letter.
  4. 4Connect three or more matching stamps to send them home.
  5. 5Watch the tide arrow: after every third drop the rows slide, then settle. Send enough letters before your drops run out.

Tips and strategy

  • Look at the next two letters before you drop, not just the current one.
  • Leave pairs where the coming tide will push a third matching stamp next to them.
  • Undo works once per route, so save it for a drop that ruins a chain.
  • Use the hint when you are stuck: it suggests one move.
